Inasmuch as you adhere to regular check-ins for work and business, international brand makeover expert and social media branding phenomenon Briana Dai recommends the same thing for marriage.

Every week, both spouses should ensure that communication is always open and that something that needs to improve or change is never missed. Learn How To Do A Relationship Check-In in this new episode of the Relationship Alchemy show.

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ Weekly check-ins should generally be in the spirit of growth, not complaining or starting an argument.  How often do you take time to water your marriage? By simply talking about the things, the "stick outs" of the week — running through the positives and negatives will make miracles for a lasting union.

✔️ The power of appreciation. Getting started on that warm and fuzzy feeling of giving and accepting positive acknowledgment when communicating with your partner makes you more open-minded when there's a need to provide and receive harder feedback.

✔️ When telling your partner something you want to change, it's OK not to discuss that to death. Many couples stop talking to each other because the same conversation happens in a cycle of hurting each other with criticism and control.

✔️ Remember that each of you is a whole person with an entire life going on beyond being parents. Sharing the pieces outside of marriage and family life keeps you and your partner connected to each other's lived experiences.

✔️ Brianna recommends as her best resource is Growing Yourself Back Up by John Lee and Breńe Brown's The Gifts of Imperfection. "It was game-changing in terms of shifting through my pregnancy, becoming a different woman with changing wants, desires and even dislikes, and so do all yourself work to figure out how to eliminate or manage your toxic traits that we all inevitably have."
