"We're the same team here."

This saying is an excellent reminder for many spouses and partners inside a relationship. We tend to forget that we're in this life together, especially when we have intense and complex disagreements.

In this special episode, I invited my partner Patrick Price to break down how the idea of being on the "same team" has transformed how we navigate disagreements and big decisions in our relationship.

You may have heard me referring to this in Episode 2 on the "5 Habits To Strengthen Your Relationship" and in Episode 13 on "Your Influential Voice at Work and Home with Tricia Brouk."

Let's deep dive into this powerful mindset in this new episode of Relationship Alchemy Being on the Same Team in Your Relationship.

Key points covered in this episode:

✔️ We were working with a couples' coach in 2018 who introduced this idea to us that changed the dynamics of my relationship with my partner. It's a constant reminder that we belong on the same team as a couple. Many people didn't grow up believing such. When we disagree about something, we try to fight to the death to win and argue to be heard.

✔️ Couples that forget they're on the same team can't move forward. Do you have fights wherein you're like two boxers coming at each other inside the ring, trying to beat the other one to win? Patrick talks about people missing out on synergy and cohesion and reminding us that as partners, you should be helping each other out instead, like a basketball or football team.

✔️ The best recommendation for couples: give your team a NAME. Why? This helps disrupt your current argumentative patterns and even can help them be playful fights.

✔️  Our genius is separate and can do lots, but we can do a magnitude more together. We often find a better solution when we work together rather than in opposition.
